Latansaa and Youm Jamil

Two of my 2009 2yos to follow as 3yos run tomorrow for the second time this season.

Latansaa runs in the 5.00 Kempton, a class 39 maiden. On the face of it, he has an excellent chance, as last time out he came a decent 3rd in a class 49 maiden, recording his best "Hussey" adjusted SF to date. So tomorrow, dropping in class, he ought to be a contender. The problem is that half his opposition tomorrow is unraced, and includes 3yos trained by the likes of Sir Michael Stoute, Michael Jarvis, Luca Cumani and Jeremy Noseda. Latansaa has the benefit of having had a race, but backing him with so many unknown quantities in opposition is to my mind gambling not investing, so although I expect him to run well I'll just be watching.

Youm Jamil runs in the 5.35 Chepstow, a class 49 handicap. On his first run of the current season he came 3rd, beaten 2.3l, in a class 49 maiden. Like Latansaa, he recorded his best "Hussey" adjusted SF to date last time out, but the hard fact is that he couldn't win a class 49 and cannot with confidence be taken to do so tomorrow. Like Latansaa, Youm Jamil should be a serious contender in his race, but I don't see his performance last time out as giving the green light to backing him in tomorrow's race.
