Assuming all 35 run, the Cambridgeshire works out easily from the perspective of the basic VDW method with just three consistent horses, therefore probables, each a probable with form. In descending AR rank: Start Right, Nationalism and Absinthe. Of these, Start Right comes out best on both class and form and is the class/form horse.
However Start Right is only eleventh in the AR rank, a situation not markedly improved by taking his position in the rank order of the time-based rating (where he comes ninth).
Both of the other two probables with form have won well on soft and are lightly raced so could show great improvement - as could Start Right. But none has come close to winning a race anywhere near the class of tomorrow's, so backing the c/f or any of the others is a gamble on the extent of the improvement they might show.
Not a betting race for me.
