1. Tartan Gunna. Came to win the race entering the home straight but lack of fitness showed and made no progress over the last 1-2 furlongs. On my cross-check ratings (non VDW) he ran about 5lb below his best winning performance (at Goodwood on 12 September 2009). Hopefully the run will have brought TG on and we'll see improvement next time out.
2. Baylini. Rather disappointing as she seemed to have a reasonably unhindered run, and on my figures she ran about 6lb below her winning performance on 30 January. It could be that Baylini is one of those horses who really has a strong course preference (ie for Lingfield), or it may be that she's gone off the boil, which would not be surprising given the number of races she's had over the last few months (7 since late November).
